CLOSED CAPTIONING
I am passionate about accessibility in all forms, and have found that my writing expertise and attention to detail is well-suited for closed captioning services. My wide range of experience with editing and proofreading transcriptions come from my work with Echo Labs, where I am responsible for creating captions with at least 99% accuracy. Through my work in captioning, I have experience with verbatim and edited/clean transcription, with my style changing based on the needs of the client.
Most importantly, I ensure all of my captioning meets criteria set by the Americans with Disabilities Act, allowing all viewers needing closed captioning for any reason to enjoy the video they're watching.
Echo Labs
I currently work with EchoLabs as a Senior Transcriber and Editor, where I transcribe and synch captions with educational content from a variety of universities across the United States. With EchoLabs, I both edit transcriptions and captioning jobs by other transcribers, and create my own transcriptions for videos. While editing these captions and transcriptions, I ensure that all videos that come across my desk are compliant with all guidelines from the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as our own company style guide.
When the company first began, I assisted the in-house team members with creating and editing our company style guide to create a universal approach to captioning for all EchoLabs transcribers to use.
